Welcome to starting something new – taking a step outside of your comfort zone and going for it! This is fully guided, inspired and directed by the Holy Spirit. So here we go…. Life can knock you down if you let it, but the key is to not let it keep you down. Get up, accept what just happened, pray for guidance and direction, and be on your way with the knowledge to live in the Will of God. When you have that pit in your stomach as though either something is going to happen or looming, stop say a prayer, and feel the peace return. Now no matter what lies ahead you can handle it as you have God with you.
Invite God to spend the day…..with one of my mother’s favorites and the go to prayer for St Mother Teresa too….
The Memorare
Remember O most gracious Virgin Mary that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought thine intercession was left unaided. Inspired by this confidence I fly unto thee, Oh Virgin of Virgin’s my mother, to thee do I come, before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate despise not my petitions but in thy mercy hear and answer me. Amen
Thought/quotes to ponder…..
“Remember the past with GRATITUDE.
Live the present with ENTHUSIASM.
Look forward to the future with CONFIDENCE.
St. John Paul II
“Speak only when you feel that your words are better than your silence.” – Buddha
“You will find it necessary to let things go; simply for the reason that they are too heavy. “
Corrie Ten Boom
“The world offers you comfort. But you were not made for comfort. You were made for greatness.
Pope Benedict XVI
Life is but a Weaving
by Corrie Ten Boon
My life is but a weaving
Between my God and me.
I cannot choose the colors
He weaveth steadily.
oft’ times He weaveth sorrow;
And In foolish pride
Forget He sees the upper
And I the underside.
Not ‘til the loom is silent
And the shuttles cease to fly
Will God unroll the canvas
And reveal the reason why.
The dark threads are as needful
In the weaver’s skillful hand
As the threads of gold and silver
In the pattern He has planned.
He knows , He loves, He cares;
Nothing this truth can dim.
He gives the very best to those
Who leave the choice to Him.
Cooking/baking brings comfort, warmth and love. So I would like to share a family favorite receipe – it was given to me from a dear friend over 25 years ago. I would make up this cookie dough, keep it in the fridge and bake a dozen each morning for school lunches. The kids would awake to the smell of chocolate chip cookie baking in the oven. I hope this receipe bring as much joy to your home and family as it has to mine.
Neiman-Marcus Cookies
